All five properties which is a little over 250 apartments have produced solar power since June 2021. The solar panels are all roof installed and the energy produced reduces the amount we must pull from the electrical grid.

Plateau Property Management has a long history of managing their properties in an environmentally responsible way. In addition to now providing most of the electrical needs for their apartments, they began a very popular recycle program at The Chapel Apartments 25 years ago and carried that model over to Ponderosa Pines when they purchased that property in 2015. In 2018 they installed an electric car charging station at Ponderosa Pines, the first apartment complex within the county to offer this feature. Additionally, they replaced the old single pane windows at all its properties, installed low flow toilets and faucets, upgraded Insulation and improved siding.

Electric Vehicle Charging Station

Electric Vehicle Charging Station

Installed in 2018 at our Ponderosa Pines community which is the only apartment complex in the county to offer this amenity. This is a level 2, J1772, 6.6kw station called Ponderosa Pines Station 1 located at 3000 Trinity Dr. Los Alamos, NM 87544. There is room for 2 vehicles to charge at a time and residents charge for free. Visit: ChargePoint

Recycling Program

Recycling Program

Community Gardens

Community Gardens

We provide a total of 54 garden plots for our residents to use located at our Chapel and Ponderosa Pines communities. These plots are within fenced-in areas which protects them from deer and other animals. The garden spots are very popular and are quickly reserved each season giving our residents the opportunity to grow their own vegetables, herbs, and flowers.

Installed low flow toilets and faucets which reduces water waste. Additionally, installed double pane windows, upgraded insulation, and improved siding which reduces heating/cooling waste and keeps our apartment homes more comfortable.
